What to expect when we visit

How a North & Home plumber’s visit works, what to have ready and how pricing and payment work.

What happens on the day?

  • 01

    A text on the way

You get a text with the plumber’s name when they are heading to you.

  • 02

    Talk it through

Show the plumber the problem and tell them what you have noticed.

  • 03

    Diagnosis and price

The plumber finds the cause and gives you a fixed price for the job.

  • 04

    Fixed and explained

Once you agree, the work is done, tested and explained before we leave.

What should I have ready?

  • Clear access to the problem area, under sinks and to the water heater
  • The location of your water meter and main stop tap, if you know it
  • Photos or a note of when the problem started
  • Any product details or receipts for fixtures you want installed
  • Pets settled away from the work area

Worried about the cost?

Many people are. You get a fixed price before any work starts, and if a repair is cheaper than a replacement we tell you. You can say no to any quote and only pay the call-out.

Common questions

Most repairs take one to two hours, including diagnosis. Larger jobs such as hot water replacements or repiping take longer and are scheduled in advance.
